Maria Venti

Maria's work is based on the human relationship with nature and the environment. She creates sculptures and paintings that reflect the human parasitic behavior on Earth using the figure of leech as a metaphor. Her aim is to make the viewer question whether the rise of humanity is a net asset to the viability of the planet and other species living on it or if we are a new parasite that has grown too quickly for the earth to survive.
